Andrey Zelensky

Composer and pianist. Born in 1963 in Blagoveshchensk. Graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod State Glinka Conservatory and completed postgraduate studies at the Oil and Gas Conservatory (class of Prof. Arkady Nesterov). Participated in composer's seminars in Ivanovo under the guidance of Sergei Berinsky, Vasily Lobanov.

Andrey Zelensky's compositions have been performed in Russia and abroad, in particular at festivals  contemporary music "Moscow Autumn", "Creative Workshop", "Meetings in the Province", "Wet Sand Strip" (Nizhny Novgorod), etc.

He performs as a pianist-improviser, and also writes music for theater and cinema. Head of the musical department at the Moscow Drama Theater  "Aparte".

Among his compositions: Invention-pastoral for three guitars, "Metamorphoses" in memory of Nikolai Korndorf for chamber ensemble, string quartet "On the background of a landscape", Sonata al test for solo violin, "Sonata in  preludes" for violin, voice and  piano, "Little Joys" for voice, saxophone, piano and various objects, Esmeralda - metamorphosis concerto for guitar, string orchestra, percussion, flute and piano, Sol-weg-pulsation for eight cellos and piano, etc.
