Ilya Lykov graduated from the Russian Academy of Theater Arts (GITIS) in 2008 (course of Mikhail Mokeev) and was accepted into the troupe of the Moscow Sovremennik Theater. Plays in the performances "The Cherry Orchard" based on the play by A.P. Chekhov (Epikhodov),  "Seryozha" based on the stories of A.P. Chekhov (Staff Captain Polyansky, Teacher Ryzhitsky, Dmitry Petrovich Silin), "Pygmalion" based on the play by Bernard Shaw (Pickering), "The Outsider" based on the story by Albert Camus (Mursault), "Three Sisters" based on the play by A.P. Chekhov (Andrey Prozorov), “Tell me, people, where is this train going…” based on the play by Anna Baturina (Matvey Kravchuk), “Lessons of the Heart” based on the plays by Irina Vaskovskaya (Aleksey). Takes part in the musical evening "The sun is walking along the boulevards" and in the play "Wedding" based on the works of M. Zoshchenko, B. Brecht, I. Ilf and E. Petrov, A. P. Chekhov, L. N. Tolstoy and M. Zhvanetsky .

The artist's filmography includes the films "Alibi for Two", "Once Upon a Time in Odessa", "The Life and Adventures of Mishka Yaponchik", "Handsome", "Seryozha" (film-play), "Outsider" (film-play). He also played in the performance of the Praktika Theater "Poems about Love", based on the poetry of Vera Polozkova.
