Alexey Aigi was born in 1971 in Moscow, graduated from the Moscow Musical College named after M. M. Ippolitov-Ivanov. One of the leading Russian composers, owner of a number of  domestic cinema awards (including Nika, Golden Aries, Golden Eagle, White Elephant, etc.), author of music for more than 60 films in Russia and abroad. Among them are "Country of the Deaf" by Valery Todorovsky, "Trial" by Alexander Kott, "Wild Field" by Mikhail Kalatozishvili, "Horde" by Andrey Proshkin.

Aleksey Aigi is actively working in Europe, his latest work, the documentary film "I'm Not a Negro to You" directed by Raoul Peck, was nominated for an Oscar and received such awards as the French Cesar Award, the British BAFTA Award and the Audience Award for Key European Film Festival "Berlinale".

The composer also tours and records in Japan, France, Germany and other European countries.

Ensemble 4'33'', founded by Alexei Aigi in 1994, is a unique hybrid of a chamber orchestra and a rock band. The team regularly performs at clubs and large academic venues in Moscow and beyond. He takes part in festivals of new academic music, as well as in rock and jazz festivals. In 2015 and 2016, the concerts “Kuryokhin and Aigi at the Conservatory” took place in the Great Hall of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
