Sarah Mackelravie is a Canadian violinist and violist. She graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music (class of Paul Cantor and Steven Rose) and graduate school from Yale University, where she was tutored by members of the Tokyo String Quartet.

He performs all over the world as a performer and active promoter of chamber (especially quartet) music. Founder and member of the Linden String Quartet, winner of the Gold Medal and Grand Prix of the National Joseph E. Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, the Coleman-Barstow Prize of the National Alice Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition, the Hugo Kauder Chamber Ensemble Competition Award, the ProQuartet Award of the IX String Quartet Competition Paolo Borchani in Italy and others. Founder and Artistic Director of the Chamber Music Society of Mexico (CMSMx).

Notable events from past seasons include Sarah Mackelrawy's Japanese debut with the Royal Northern Sinfonia at the La Folle Journée (“Crazy Day”) festival in Tokyo, chamber music concerts at the Musikverein Hall in Vienna, the Prague Spring Festival, the Sion Festival, the Julian Festival Rachlin in Mallorca, the Kronberg Academy, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival and the Janine Jansen Chamber Music Festival in Utrecht.

Engagements for the 2018/19 season include performances with renowned Western European and Russian orchestras, the UK premiere of the Double Concerto for Violin and Viola by Krzysztof Penderecki with Julian Rakhlin and the Royal Northern Sinfonia conducted by Alexander Joel, as well as chamber music concerts at the Palace of Fine Arts in Brussels, at the festival in Turku and at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris.

Ensemble partners include Julian Rakhlin, Janine Jansen, Vilde Frang, Denis Kozhukhin, Itamar Golan, Andreas Ottensamer, Mischa Maisky, Nicholas Altstedt, Boris Andrianov and Daniel Müller-Schott.

He plays a violin by Ferdinando Galliano (1791) and a viola by Lorenzo Storioni (1785), provided by private patrons.
